Curry Senior Center is not just celebrating the holidays but our 50th anniversary as well! The holidays can be challenging for seniors who are separated from friends and family. When you support Curry, you help combat senior isolation and give back to the community. Here are some opportunities for you to contribute to Curry’s Golden Jubilee during the Season of Giving.
Be A Santa to a Senior
When: Early November through December
Curry Senior Center is partnering with Home Instead Senior Care and CVS Pharmacies this holiday season to spread holiday cheer and support seniors at Curry! This partnership allows anyone who shops at one of the CVS Pharmacy stores in the city to purchase essential care items for our seniors.
Many Curry seniors are on fixed incomes and don’t have money at the end of the month for essential personal care items like toothbrushes, toothpaste, soaps, and lotions. You can look for a holiday tree at the entrance of every CVS Pharmacy in San Francisco starting in early November. The tree’s ornaments contain the name and gift wish of a Curry Senior that can be purchased. A volunteer elf then delivers these items to Curry!
Giving Tuesday
When: November 29th
This global day is dedicated to giving back. Your contributions will help aging adults and Curry to be set up for success leading into the new year.
Your donation will support a myriad of vital Curry programs like technology support, escorted transportation to medical appointments, and home visits from Curry case managers and healthcare staff.

Host a Holiday Gift Drive Today
A gift drive is a great time to give back during the holiday season! Your whole family or company can be involved. Many Curry Seniors live on their own and are isolated from friends and family. Not having this network of connections can make the holidays an especially lonely time. However, you can help by hosting a gift drive to ensure everyone gets a gift!
Adopt a Senior
Fulfill the gift wish of a Curry Senior during the holiday season
Care Items
Help make sure seniors have essential care items for the year
Gift Bags
Assemble gift bags with essential care products and non perishable food items
Gift Cards
Gift cards to CVS, Walgreens, or Amazon can lift senior’s spirits
Tech Equipment
Help seniors connect with their network of friends and family

Volunteer
Christmas Party for Seniors
When: December 16th, Friday, 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm
Volunteers needed: 4 to 6
Tasks: Help assist with activities and serve snacks and drinks to Curry seniors.
Location: CSC Drop-in Dining room, 333 Turk Street, SF,CA 94102
Bingo
When: Mondays through Sundays, 10:00am to 11:00 am
Volunteers needed: 4
Location: CSC Drop-in Center, 333 Turk Street, SF, CA 94102
*Bingo must be arranged at least three days in advance and we kindly ask volunteers to bring prizes for bingo.
Kwanzaa
When: December 30th, Friday, 1:00pm to 2:30pm
Volunteers needed: 3-4
Task: Assist with activities and serving food and drinks to Curry seniors.
